HEALTH:
Eat Green, Go Lean! - er...not so much. As I mentioned, one of my neighbors is following the vegan diet as listed in that Skinny Bitch book and boy, it noticeably is sure having the opposite effect. Personally I think that if you want to be a vegetarian or vegan because you feel better, more power to you. Just don't push it on me. Or others.
Fat Kids - do you fear having a fat child? Read and discuss.
Sperm Power! - oh, how I love the snark in the comments.
For A Good Cause - ever wonder where your donations go? Here's one answer...
Helpful Diet Tips! - how many of these have you tried to live by?
The Greatest Donation - I love the opening paragrah.
The Myth of Sloth - suck it, naysayers
Low Carb & The Kid - fab article on helping a kid eat better
The Aftermath of Pregnancy - features a nude piccy, but interesting post on the plastic surgery known as the "Mommy Job".
Huckabee's Weight Loss Scam - yeah, I think he had surgery, too. KH has comment on the article as well as the research behind it, On the Relationship Between Genetics And Health
Bye Bye, Incandescent Bulb - apparently the US has the same plans, which sucks for those of us who are extremely sensitive to flourescent lights, such as myself. Since reading this I'm already grateful for the number of windows in our house, and am trying to figure out the best alternative light sources besides candles.
When Doctors Are Idiots - Listen, I know doctors are busy and that there's scads of research and stuff to be read and considered, but internets, you'd think that if they specialize in a subject, they'd learn about things that directly affect their patients post surgery, right?
He Lied - bastard wasn't too fat to adopt, he missed a bloody appointment.
NEWS/POLITICS/SOCIAL COMMENTARY:
Debate Blast From the Past - I miss Bill.
Define Racist - if there are any Ron Paul supporters out there, could you explain to me why you support him? Because I genuinely don't understand.
Media Smackdown - and damn if they don't deserve it with the nonsense they serve up as "news" these days.
The Have-Nots - who needs to be humbled, exactly? Because I can tell you, the poor are already humble enough.
Goodbye To All That - new perspective on what the Iowa results, especially Obama himself, say to the rest of the world. Veddy, veddy interestink.
Dear Jane - sad, yet terribly wonderful letter from a soldier who was killed on Thursday to his family and the world at large. I admit it, it made me cry.
What Have We Learned - more on Iowa.
Electronic Passports - because this sounds like a good idea.
RELIGIONS:
Predictions 2008 - grab some entrails and let's go!
Sayings of a Jewish Buddhist - "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single Oy."
Eighty - the number of Asian women in London who committed suicide by train in 2006
The War On...Taoists, Hindus, Christians - see, it is just as bad when another faith is in the majority
Religious Expression - non-Christians need not apply. Literally.
There Must Be Violence Against Women - Words. Fail.
COOL STUFF:
Government Organization By Country - gave me a good giggle. France and Turkey are my favorites.
Vote for Pedro! - 10 most obnoxiously overquoted movies
Wooden Digger - if I had a spare $300, I'd buy this for Mr Oro.
Cthulu Hand Puppet - So wrong, yet so cool.
FOOD PORN:
Lentil Soup - I need to go buy lentils right now.
Temple Food - or, this soup.
WTFF?:
Duck! And Cover! - I'm sorry, I think it's funny. And now you too can learn to sing along (btw, check out the 1982 documentary The Atomic Cafe , it's hi-larious):
Oro out.
Great job this week. I read so many.
Soldier, dying, a little close to home, but makes me realize ex may need to write a similar letter.

Eesh, Cricket, it never even occurred to me that you would read that. I've not said anything because a) the situation is, to me, almost unbelievable, and b) it's too scary to contemplat - and I'm just watching what's happening from afar. I wish I could make the problem disappear for you.
